  PROBABLY GOING TO NEED 5, 12, AND 22 TO COMPLETE PA! FYI - these powerpoints + pdfs have been removed from the course, the book mentioned is Software Engineering: A Practitioner’s Approach, 8th Edition. This looks like it may be the correct textbook, and there are chapter summaries you can download. There’s much more info in the ppts though if you can find them through Google.

  • old instructor walkthrough from Dr. Schwartz (instructions are outdated use for the timestamped examples below)
  • current webinars for each PA section (these instructions trump anything you hear from Dr. Schwartz or see in those examples)
  • common reasons PAs don’t pass document — this is old and inaccurate in many places so don’t follow what it says over the instructor vids or rubric

IMPORTANT: There are requirements specified in the instructor explanation videos that aren’t explicitly stated in the rubric and there are requirements in the rubric that the instructor doesn’t state in the videos. Put everything from both of those sources into your paper.

A1: Every section moving forward including this one needs to be a full paragraph of at least 3 sentences (unless bulleted).

A2: Use the “Background” section. Don’t forget to include how your system addresses the problems.

A3: Use the “Introduction”, “Key Technical Objectives” and “Expectations” sections.

****A4: Use actual dates, not timelines like “1 week”. You need technical pre-reqs like hardware upgrades, purchasing data servers, etc. - even though this isn’t listed in the rubric.

****A5: Pay attention to what the new instructor says about where to get the in scope and out of scope

A6: Use the “OS and Browser Support” section and there’s also a note in Non-Functional Requirements → Hosting that you need to include if your solution is cloud-based.
